Howard Stern regular Joey Boots comes out of the closet

I don't watch/listen to Howard Stern -- I don't think he was ever in Albuquerque when he was on radio. But when I saw this picture, I figured, what the hell? This Joey Boots guy is bearish. Why not post the news? Okay, so here it is. Joey Boots is gay:

This week Howard Stern regular Joey Boots came out of the closet as a gay man live on the air. Of course, a Howard Stern revelation wouldn’t be complete without the trash factor. According to HowardStern.com, “Boots then confessed that he was gay, saying he's been going out to gay clubs ‘on the sly’ to ... and otherwise ‘hook up'.” Boots went onto describe the many men he is attracted to — none of which were Howard. Comedian and producer of the Howard Stern radio show, Bob Levy, argued that Boots was only gay because he slept with Lisa Lampanelli — that’s a story I’m afraid to hear!

David Hyde Pierce: Sorta kinda out?

AfterElton Reports that David Hyde Pierce is officially out.

The site claims that the guy who played Niles for a billion years on Frasier has finally come out. I guess?! He didn't really come out. His publicist "confirmed" that he's got a life partner. Mr. Pierce, as far as I can tell, has not released a personal statement.

Well, David, apparently everyone in Hollywood knows you are gay. Of course, everyone in Hollywood knows everyone in Hollywood is gay, but that's another story for another day.

A publicist for David Hyde Pierce yesterday confirmed for AfterElton.com that Pierce is gay and in a long term relationship with Brian Hargrove, a writer/producer/director in Hollywood. Speculation had long swirled around the actor who found fame playing Niles Crane for twelve years on the long running sitcom Frasier.

Pierce had frequently been asked about his private life, but always declined to discuss it. In an interview in the fall of 1993, a reporter for Emmy Magazine asked Pierce about the issue and was told, "Basically, I don't talk about my personal life." That was the stance he continued to adhere to over the years.

Anyway, good for him. Another gay actor admits he's gay. Now all we have to do is convince the other 4,999,994 to come out.

College to Lacrosse coach: You're gone b/c you stink not b/c you're gay

The openly gay coach of the Missouri men's lacrosse team was told his contract will not be renewed after nine seasons. Team leaders said Kyle Hawkins was dismissed because of his job performance, not his sexual orientation.

Yeah. Right.

A Naked Jack Osborne

I was just tooling around the internet, waiting for my last screenwriting class of the year to begin, when suddenly the name "Jack Osbourne" popped up. Don't ask where or how because I'm not about to check my history on this one. However, I started doing searches for the hairy little satyr, and voila, Jack Osborne, Naked.

When you visit the site, just ignore the bitchy, anorexic, hand-me-a-cheeseburger-before-I-faint whore who write that site. Just admire the photo.

Does anyone remember the episode of The Osbournes where Jack gets naked and runs around the house? Yeah, well, he was probably underaged at the time, but since everything was blurred out it was all good and safe. Still, I got a stiffy, which I can't normally say for 17 year olds. But Jack, my friend, you are 22 now! My digits are....

"Out" Ranks the Top 50 Gays

Why the hell wouldn't Anderson Cooper or Jodie Foster appear on the cover? And when did Jodie Foster come out? I knew there were rumors, but I must have missed the memo. More at New York Magazine:

When New York did a "Gay Life Now" issue in 2001, only seven of the forty prominent New York gays asked to pose for the cover were willing. Those big shots may have been gay, and they may have been out, but it just wouldn't do for them to be gay and out on the cover of a magazine. "There was a time when the closet was a necessary safe haven," our pal Maer Roshan, who edited the issue, wrote in an angry 2,000-word essay. "But now, it exists as an anachronistic monument to shame. It's time for our public figures to stop hiding in there — and for journalists to stop helping them." Six years and a month later, maybe at least that second part has come true. Here's a first glimpse at the cover of Out magazine's "50 Most Powerful Gay Men and Women in America" issue. (Click here for a larger image.) Those are models holding Jodie Foster and Anderson Cooper masks on the cover. Neither, of course, would appear themselves.
